The Quality Costs spreadsheet explains, through examples, the relationship between quality and costs, since the financial return of companies is strongly related to the quality of their product or service. Quality costs can be classified as compliance costs, which are the costs of meeting customer needs, and non-compliance costs, which are the costs of failures in products and processes. Examples of the calculation of recall costs, the calculation to determine the Total Cost of Quality and an example of categorization of quality costs based on the terms described in the blog post and attached as a manual are presented.
